Selfie Collage: Travel Enthusiast
My selfie collage is a reflection of myself and the activities I enjoy doing. The purpose of this collage is to convey a visual image of my interests and provide insight into my life. Each layer shows a different characteristic of myself. The first layer is an i,age I captures while traveling in the country, Ethiopia. It shows my adventurous side, and how I enjoy learning and experiencing new things. The second layer is of my four year old Cockapoo Max. Iv'e always wanted a dog since I was young, and Max has become a huge part of my life and family. He always brightens my mood. The third layer, The Grand Hotel found on Mackinac Island, conveys my love of both the island and the hotel itself. My family travels to Mackinac Island every year, and I enjoy the island's quaint and "easy-going" atmosphere. The following layer of a Cedar Point ferris wheel shows my love of amusement parks. The final layer, a Michigan university sign I captured at the 2016 Citrus Bowl conveys my love of the university and for its sporting events. Every year, my father purchases seasonal football tickets, and my sisters, mom and I attend the games with him. Overall, these photos of past travels and my life experiences truly represent who I am.
In comparison to my "5 layer selfie" this photo shows more precision, editing, and overall knowledge of photoshop. At the beginning of the trimester, I hardly knew anything about photoshop. It confused me and was hard to comprehend. However, through much practice and learning, I have grown to appreciate photoshop for its vast capabilities and complexity. I chose clouds as my double exposure background because I feel that they are calming, everchanging, and sort of mysterious. As a young child, I used to stare at the clouds with my friends and sisters and point out various animals we saw in them. That being said, this photo is meant to portray my free and innocent childhood, whilst illustrating my teenage "image". The combination of the two allow for a very intriguing outcome.
